Corporate Slogans
Importance of Realizing the Sustainability
The Roland business contributes to the sustainable development of the society through its musical and video culture while, at the same time, it is supported by the stability and affluence of the environment and the entire society. In addition, we are aware that it is an important duty that a corporation should assume to confront in earnest such issues as those related to climate change or human rights and to contribute to the solution of those.
Aiming at avoiding the occurrence of the negative chain reaction in which the stability or sustainability of the environment or of the society is damaged causing the musical and video cultures or our company's business not to be able to exist any longer, we are taking actions as our managerial materiality in order to create a virtuous cycle where each one heightens the other one's sustainability.
Policy for the Initiatives
In accordance with the following principles for our activities, we will continue providing the value of “Creativity” for development of the musical and video cultures, and do our “BEST” for balancing the solution of environmental and social issues and the growth of our business, through the initiatives with “Cooperative Enthusiasm for All Stakeholders”.
The five principles for activities
The Sustainability Promotion Committee, as a subordinate body of the Executive Officers' Committee, is chaired by the responsible Executive Officer and conducts deliberations and approvals regarding policy formulation and progress of initiatives. The committee convenes quarterly, four times a year.
Key issues (Materiality) are examined through subcommittees and projects, which help promote activities across the entire Group.
Furthermore, in collaboration with the Risk Management and Compliance Committee, we are working to strengthen our governance structure.
Materiality (Key Issues)
In line with the development of our medium-term business plan, we conducted a review of our materiality.
Based on this review, we redesigned our materiality identification process.
We will continue to regularly review our materiality in accordance with changes in our business environment and society.
Overview of the Materiality Identification Process
We begin with society's key sustainability themes. From there, we evaluate which themes are relevant to our company and identify those with the greatest impact as our materiality.
Approach to Materiality Assessment
With support from external experts, we evaluate each theme based on its impact on stakeholders and its impact on our company.
We then plot these results on a materiality map and select the themes with the highest impact in both areas as our material topics.
Specific Initiatives and Targets / KPIs
Based on the identified materiality, we will set initiative themes and targets, and plan to disclose them in stages.
The entire group will work collectively toward achieving these targets.
