Q.In Macintosh OS 9, how can I see that my MIDI device is working correctly?

A.Use the [Apple System Profile] window to check that a MIDI device using a dedicated driver is working correctly in the Mac OS 9.

Use the following procedure.

  1. From the Apple menu, choose [Apple System Profile].
  2. Click the [Devices and Volumes] tab.
  3. If "Vendor-specific ( model name)" is shown at the bottom of the USB section, the device is working correctly.

** For some devices, only "Vendor-specific" may appear.
** If no indication is shown, choose [Update all information] from the [Command] menu. If there is still no indication, it is possible that your computer has not detected the device. Refer to the troubleshooting section of your owner's manual.

Once you have confirmed that your device has been installed correctly, then set your OMS or Free MIDI settings and software settings.
