Q.When I change the tempo of a pattern on the SP-404 / SP-303, the sample playback remains unchanged. How can I get my samples to follow the tempo change?

A.Altering the BPM of a pattern changes the sequencer playback tempo, but does not change the tempo of the sample itself. In other words, the BPM change affects the sequencer’s playback time (when samples are triggered in the time line), but does not affect the tempo of the samples themselves.

To change the tempo of a sample, use the Time Modify function to stretch or compress it to the desired BPM setting.

Note: Extreme alteration of a sample’s tempo may cause sound deterioration or noise.
