How to know the version
Before you start, check the system program version of your P-10.
  1. Insert an SD or SDHC card to P-10.
  2. Turn on power.
  3. Select [MENU] button, then select [INFORMATION] by using [VALUE] knob and push [ENTER] button.
  4. Following information will be displayed.
    SD Card Total: Capacity of SD card
    SD Card Remain: Capacity of available data
    Version: Version number of P-10
  5. Select [MENU] button and turn off power.

Update history

[ → Ver.1.12]
  • Changed the opening screen of P-10.
  • Supports for MIDI VISUAL CONTROL protocol.
[ → Ver.1.09]
  • Removed the P-10 panel image from the opening screen.
  • On PAL(25fps), P-10 might not be able to play back a movie file recorded until the maximum size of an SD card which size is 2GB or more because there is an error on the error-handling routine. The error is corrected.
  • Changed the brand name on the PC screen from Edirol to Roland when connecting the P-10 with the PC.

  • Video Format setting might be changed unexpectedly just after performing the Factory Reset function.

  • When letting the input video signal go thru output, the output video might be shifted four lines downward.
  • The system was stopping video playback by a MIDI Offline message, so the playback might be stopped unexpectedly.
[ → Ver.1.05]
  • MIDI messages of All Note Off, and All Sound Off might be passed through when the setting of MIDI Soft Through to OFF.
  • Unable to control SLIDE SHOW button to on/off via MIDI.
  • Several frames around the End Point might not be played when the capture was long.
  • Response at changing Pads got faster when short video file was assigned to it.
  • Got compatible with 32GB SDHC Card.

What you will need to update your P-10
  • P-10
  • A SD Card (We recommend the SD Card came with P-10)
  • A computer with a USB connector (Windows 7 / Vista / XP, MacOS X)
  • USB Cable
  • The downloaded update file

Cautions with the update
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the P-10. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • We recommend that you back up data on your SD card to your computer before updating.
    In order to back up your data, copy the "DCIM" folder on the root directory of your SD card into the hard disk drive on your computer and others.
    In order to restore your backed up " DCIM" folder, copy and overwrite it onto the SD card.

Getting the update file
Download the file named "p10_sys_v112.zip".
It is an archive file in zip format, please double click on the file to expand. After expanding the file, the folder "p10_sys_v112" holding the file "update.img" will be appeared.

Procedure for the update
Please refer to the following procedure to install the extracted system program to your P-10.
  1. Insert an SD or SDHC card to P-10, and turn on power.
  2. Connect the P-10 with your computer by using a USB cable.
  3. Copy the update data "update.img" from your computer to the SD card in the P-10.
  4. After copy the data, release USB connection from your computer and unplug the USB cable.
    Windows: Use such functions as the "Safely Remove Hardware" on the task-tray of Windows.
    Mac OS X: Put the P-10 icon into the Trash icon on the desktop.
  5. Turn off power, and reboot the P-10.
  6. P-10 will display green bar and update automatically.
  7. When the update completed, P-10 will be rebooted automatically.
  8. Select [MENU] button, then select [INFORMATION] by using [VALUE] knob and push [ENTER] button for confirming the version number.
  9. After confirming the display of version 1.12, select [MENU] button.
  10. Connect again a USB cable with your computer, and remove the update file "update.img" from P-10.
  11. After removing the data, release USB connection from your computer and unplug the USB cable.
  12. Turn off power.

* You will take about one minutes to update.
* Important notice: Never turn the P-10 off during the update process, or P-10 won't reboot correctly any more.
