What you will need to recover your HPD-20
  • HandSonic HPD-20
  • PC to write the files to the USB Memory
  • USB Memory ( Roland's M-UF2G is recommended )
    * The USB Memory need to be formatted on a HPD-20.

Getting the recover files
Please open/extract the downloaded "hpd20_factory.zip" file on your computer to get the factory settings file in the "hpd20_factory" folder.

Restoring All the Factory Default Settings
* When you execute the LOAD (USB MEMORY) operaton, all wave and kit data in the HPD-20 will be overwritten. If the HPD-20 contains important data that you want to keep, save it to a USB Memory before you proceed.

Creating the USB Memory
  1. Connect the USB Memory to the USB connector of your computer.
  2. Copy the extracted "Roland" folder in the above to the root folder of the USB Memory.
    * Copy not each content in the "Roland" folder, but the entire folder.
  3. Disconnect the USB Memory from your computer as follows.

    [ Windows ]
    Use the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows task tray to un-mount the USB Memory. And then disconnect the USB Memory from your computer.

    [ Mac ]
    Drag the Drive icon of the USB Memory into the trash in the dock. And then remove the USB Memory from your computer.
Loading Data from a USB Memory
  1. Leaving the power to the HPD-20 switched off; connect the USB Memory to the "USB MEMORY port".
  2. Turning the power on.
  3. Choose [ MENU ] -> [ SYS ] -> [ USB Memory ] -> [ Load Backup ].
    The LOAD BACKUP screen will appear.
  4. Put a check mark for "With User Inst" using the [ - ] and [ + ] buttons.
  5. Check that "001 Factory" is selected for "Backup".
  6. Press the [ F3 ] (LOAD) button.
    The confirmation message appears.
  7. Select [ YES ] using cursor buttons and press the [ ENTER ] button.
    Loading data is executed. It takes approximately two minutes. Do not turn the power off while loading data.
