What you will need to recover your BR-80
  • MICRO BR BR-80
  • USB cable
  • A computer with a USB connector (Windows 8 / Windows 7 / Vista / XP, MacOS X)

Getting the recover files
Please open/extract the downloaded "br80_sdrd_v103.zip" file on your computer to get the recover files in the "BR80_SDcardRecoverData" folder.

Restoring the factory data to your BR-80
* When you copy the factory installed data to the SD card, all data that was previously on the SD card will be lost. Please back up SD card data to your computer before you format. (Refer to the "Backing Up SD Cards" of the owner's manual.)
You must not do the following operations on restoring. Doing so might make your computer freeze, or might result in the loss of all of the BR-80's data.
  • Turn off the BR-80's power.
  • Disconnect the USB cable.
  • Allow your computer to enter suspend (standby) or hibernate mode, restart it, or shut it down.

  1. Set the USB mode to STORAGE before you connect the BR-80 to your computer.
    1. Press the [MENU] button.
    2. Use the cursor buttons to move the cursor to "FUNCTION," and press the [ENTER] button.
      The FUNCTION screen will appear.
    3. Use the cursor buttons to move the cursor to "USB," and press the [ENTER] button.
      The USB screen will appear.
    4. Use the dial on the Top Panel to select "STORAGE", and push the "ENTER" button.Then, push the "ENTER" button again on the confirmation screen.
      * If the "STORAGE" has been selected already, press the "EXIT" button to return to the main screen.
    5. Turn the BR-80's power off and on again to enable the settings.
  2. Connect the computer to the BR-80's USB port by a USB cable.
  3. Open the BR-80 EBAND icon, and put all folder and files into the trash (delete it).
    "Removable Disk (*:)" may appear instead of the BR-80 EBAND icon.
  4. Copy (drag and drop) the "ROLAND" folder and all the files onto the "BR-80 EBAND" icon, which are included in the "BR80_SDcardRecoverData" folder in the downloaded file.
    * You must copy the entire "ROLAND" folder. The system may not work correctly if you copy only some of the files included in the "ROLAND" folder.
  5. Disconnect the BR-80 from the computer.
    With Windows 8 / Windows 7 / Vista / XP
    Right-click on the "BR-80 EBAND" icon in My Computer (or the "Removable Disk (*:)" icon) and execute "Eject."

    With Mac OS
    Drag the "BR-80 EBAND" icon to the eject icon in the Dock.
  6. Turn the BR-80's power off.
  7. Disconnect the USB cable.
